OK, I know I say it all the time, but is this not the cutest puppy ever! This is little Mindy, also known as Junebug! Why Junebug? One of the first times we put a leash on her to take her outside she was spinning, and jumping, and hopping around like a junebug on a string! Mindy is your typical puppy. She is cute, sweet, friendly to everyone she meets, playful, and she has the cutest smile! She is working on her crate training and we believe that if she were in a home situation where she could be taken out more frequently she would crate train quickly. Mindy was found by a good Samaritan who brought her to our clinic. She had been injured in some way when she was about 10 weeks old and the injury resulted in a broken femur. We basically had two options with regard to the break. Option one was to perform surgery and put a pin in the leg. Option two was to let it heal on its own. With injuries of this type and at this age they usually heal fairly quickly on their own with no detrimental side effects, especially because she will always be a very small pup. If she were going to be a big dog who would be carrying around a lot of weight we would probably have made a different decision. The leg with the break may be a tiny fraction shorter than the other leg but it will not be anything noticeable. Because Mindy is such a tiny little girl we would like to find her a home with older children. She would also love another small dog to play with.
