Koda came to us from Forsyth County where he was a stray. He weighs about 10 pounds and is about 18 months old. We believe he is a Rat Terrier mix. We have listed Koda as “special needs” but it is a little bit of a misnomer. Both of Koda’s elbow joints are at about a 90 degree angle and one paw is a little twisted. His xrays show that he has bilateral congenital luxation. In layman’s terms, his ulna bone grew normally but his radius bone stopped growing early on. When he gets older he may have some arthritis pain, but who doesn’t! Because of those bent elbows Koda walks close to the ground with a “funny” gait but it doesn’t slow him down one bit. He loves to run and play. We were amazed at how fast he is. Just take a look at his video and you will understand why he is so special but not really special needs! https://youtu.be/a0dDVHhLIDM. Koda is up to date on all his vaccines, neutered, heartworm tested negative, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $150. If you are interested in Koda please visit our website at www.tysorvet.net and fill out an application. You will find the link for the application under the adoption tab.
