Joey is a handsome 5 year old Pekinese mix that was surrendered to a small rural animal shelter. He was overlooked by everyone who came to look at dogs due to the fact that he was very scared in the shelter. We knew that we had to get him out and help him find a new home. It is hard to imagine how frightened he must have been – wondering what in the world he had done wrong to end up in the shelter. He has adjusted well here in our adoption program but is still shy with people he does not know. Joey needs someone that will show him a lot of love and patience. Joey is still doing great. He is very old but happy and sleeping on my lap as I type this little note. He is a special little dog.
